Ragging is a very popular painting technique. It provides a greater depth and visual interest to the wall. It basically uses a blend of three colors. You must choose two complementary colors from the same color family for the base and paint them across the wall. Then you can dilute the light top coat with water in three parts and paint in one part. Then you need to dip a rag in the diluted paint and blend the three colors properly. There are many techniques for interior painting. You just need to do your homework properly. It is best to do it yourself for that personal touch. On the other hand, if you decide to hire help, then you must at least supervise the whole operation to ensure that the job done is well worth the money you have spent on painter, paint and the other equipments.
